Pathshala holds exhibition titled "Inland Stories"
A group exhibition titled "Inland Stories" by the international photography students of Pathshala was held from April 11-15, 2019 in Drik Gallery (New) at Panthapath. The exhibition featured the works of the 5th batch international semester students which they had produced during the international photography programme in Kathmandu, Nepal and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Coming from all walks of life with a common interest in the medium of photography, the students met at the international photography semester of Pathshala to learn a new language to tell stories. After six months of working together, the students formed almost like a collective, where they engaged in critical dialogues about their works and supported each other during the process.
The students set out to push boundaries, explore new territories and find stories. Either working in a new place or going back to one's hometown, each tried to speak visually to interpret a place. A place which can be an unfamiliar space, a land in transition, or a journey between two or multiple points. It has also been an exercise to present and communicate their works to the audience in different modes. "Inland Stories"was an attempt to give the works a physical dimension.
