NSU organises virtual orientation programme for freshers

North South University (NSU) organised a virtual orientation programme for newly enrolled students of Spring Semester 2022 on January 24. This time, more than 1700 students took admission. 

Around 69 students have been awarded merit-based scholarships based on their previous academic, and admission test results. The programme was broadcasted live on NSU's Facebook page. 

NSU BoT Chairman Azim Uddin Ahmed was present as the chief guest. NSU alumni and San Jose State University Assistant Professor Dr Fariah Mahzabeen was present as the guest speaker. NSU BoT member Yasmin Kamal was present as the guest of honour. NSU VC Prof. Atiqul Islam chaired the event.

Azim Uddin Ahmed said, "The objective of NSU is to develop excellence in education, which is not possible without a safe and secure learning environment. To achieve this mission, NSU authorities are committed to creating a habit of discipline among students. We strive to improve the quality of higher education in this university, to bring the entire education system of this university to international standards and to strengthen the existing curriculum as well as the co-curricular program."

Dr Fariah Mahzabeen said, "I want to assure you and your parents that you are at one of the best educational institutes our country has to offer. Ask yourself what you are passionate about and try to dream big, set big goals for yourself. NSU has great resources to help you. It is also a great place to make great friends, seek collaboration and networking."

Prof. Atiqul Islam said, "Students want to learn from the most knowledgeable and skilled faculties, I can assure you, NSU has the most qualified and most caring international quality faculties who teach students with utmost care. NSU programs are nationally and internationally recognized."

The virtual orientation programme was attended by a large number of parents and students through a live broadcast on Facebook.
