UAP elects Dr Mohammad Alauddin as new BoT Chairman

Dr Alauddin has been unanimously elected as the BoT chairman of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP). He takes over from the previous chairman C. M. Shafi Sami.

Other office bearers unanimously elected include senior vice chairman Abdul Mohin Chowdhury, vice-chairs Al-haj Abdul Malek Mollah and Tashmeem Shayera Moyeen, and treasurer KM Mozibul Hoque.

Dr Alauddin has a Master's degree in Social Welfare from the Dhaka University Institute of Social Welfare and Research, and a PhD from the University of Michigan, USA. He took early retirement as an associate professor from the University of Dhaka and joined as the Country Representative of Boston-based NGO Pathfinder International, working there for 22 years and retiring in 2006. 

Dr Alauddin and his wife Fatema Alauddin are founding members of UAP. They have established SN Academy for children to give them a good foundation in elementary education in Jhawail, Gopalpur Upazila, Tangail district.

Dr Alauddin had the opportunity of providing training consultancy to Egypt, Tanzania, Pakistan, India, and Tibet. He was a consultant to The World Bank, The Population Council, USAID, and IUCW and had attended international conferences in Mexico, Egypt, and Indonesia as a member of the Bangladeshi delegation.
