A fire caught at Ilias Molla Slum on March 12, 2018 and around 8000 shanties were burnt causing 25000 slum dwellers to become homeless overnight. North South University students from English and ECE Departments came forward to stand beside them.

The university authority and other departments also supported this cause and 15 volunteers worked hard for two weeks to gather used clothes and raise a good sum of money from the general students and faculty members of NSU.

Finally, on March 30, 2018 the clothes and money were distributed among over 200 victim families. This donated fund might not change a society, but if every human being has the mentality to help others with whatever they have then it will certainly bring a positive change.
