Soft skills? What's that?
I think we have all seen upsets in sports where a star-studded team shows up to only be defeated by a ragtag bunch of minnows. We've seen that with Greece in the Euros and Leicester City in the Premier League. How do they do that? You can't really call it a fluke when a team that was slated for relegation gets to win the title after proving themselves in a 38-game season. In his book “Leading” with Michael Moritz, Sir Alex Ferguson said that the most important skill he worked on his players is decision making. So there you go, even the best manager alive swears by soft skills. Depending on where you are, these skills are either criminally underrated or everyone is obsessed with it until it loses meaning altogether. You can be the most talented engineer in the world but if you are a rude jerk, no one will be willing to work for you. These soft skills, what we talk about in this cover story, can actually make or break your team.
