An Avengers Fight: As Told By Civilians

Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers to Avengers: Infinity War, if you haven't watched the movie but intend to, STOP RIGHT HERE!

The existence of the Avengers is no longer a fairytale. They are here to protect us from the evil forces residing in the universe. We are already more or less familiar with their stories.

But, what about the civilians on the sidelines who have to witness and endure the frequent chaos and destruction? These are their stories.

JESSICA

When you live in the States, you see a lot of crazy things. This one time, Dear gave a 75 percent off on its latest collection. Unbelievable, right?  But, what I saw last week cannot be compared to anything else I had ever seen before. It changed the entire course of history.

BRENDA

I was just taking my daily walk in the morning when I saw it. Tony Stark was also enjoying a run with his girlfriend when a portal suddenly emerged out of nowhere and two dudes came out of it. One of them was wearing a cape and looked like the magicians that you hire for children's birthday parties and the other one looked like a homeless person. I wanted to get closer to the situation to investigate what was happening but the rest of the people were just going about their day like nothing had happened. Like they were some kind of background character in a movie and the director had told them to just mind their own business. 

MIKE

I was on the school bus when I saw this monstrous wheel-like structure falling out of the sky and landing into a distance. But, that was not the strangest thing that happened that day. My buddy Peter jumped out of a bus window and went chasing after that gigantic structure. Where'd he get that long a rope anyway?

SHARON

A Squidward-like creature blew up the nearest Scarbucks. Needless to say, the rest of the day did not go well for me. No, I wasn't really scared or anything. There's another Scarbucks just a few blocks away from that, so I'll just have to go there from now on. I am a bit sad, though. The one they blew up was pretty close to my house.

KATIE

My hair can always tell whether there is going to be a fight on the streets or not. If my hair is dusty, there is definitely action happening nearby. Some people might try and run away from the fighting, but not me. If you get caught in the middle of a fight, there's a high chance that one of the Avengers will personally save you and posting one such video of me getting rescued would totally set me on the way to becoming an Instagram celebrity.

CHAD

Last week wasn't my first time witnessing an Avengers battle. A few years ago, an alien body part had cut through my living room window and landed on the carpet. I had to pay a fortune to fix the window. Basically, there are major destructions occurring around every year. I don't really have anything against these Avengers, but I would very much like to know who we are fighting and why.
