If "FRIENDS" Were Made In Bangladesh

Over the ages, most of us have grown to love Central Perk, the amazing "Friends" cast and the gags that run through the entire sitcom. But how would it have turned out if it were made here?

"Ramna Perk" Tea Shop: This is the joint these friends would frequent. Apart from the fresh cup of ginger/milk cha by the almost-balding Antar Bhai (yes, Gunther in a parallel universe), this place would boast the availability of snacks like shingara and energy biscuits. Our beloved group would always manage to grab the only worn-out sofa in the room, after fending off local office goers. 

Russel Golam: Russel works at the National Museum. He has a deep interest in terracotta and often secretly carries a piece with him, much to his friends' ridicule. He loves solving the crossword puzzle in The Daily Star.

Monira Golam: The freakishly neat sister of Russel grew up playing with her hari-patil and she finally ended up as the head cook in Tara Kabab. 

Raisa Shahreen: Russel's childhood crush and occasionally the object of Antar's creepy stares, Raisa works as a buyer in Baarong. With the best hairdo and fashionable outfits, she is the trendy girl of the gang.

Chandu Nobin: Sarcasm is his middle name. He works at BanglaPhone where he calculates the Annual Net Usage Statistics. Nobin also loves to play Dota 2 during his free time.

Joy Sabbir Rony: This womaniser started his acting career with poorly received moncho natok but rose to fame as Dr. Dastogir Ramiz in the daily soap called "Jiboner Dinguli". He also had the good fortune of working in a movie as the body double of his idol, Shakeef Khan.

Beebee Sufia: Beebee is a beautician at Farsona. Eccentric and free-spirited, she often brings her harmonium to Ramna Perk, singing about homeless cats in her moholla.

Random Episode – TOW Russel's Pitha: Russel's boss ends up having a sweet delicacy from his tiffin-carrier, causing Russel to have a violent outburst. Meanwhile, Joy keeps on covering Chandu and Monira's secret affair. Raisa confesses that she hates jogging with Beebee in Ramna Park. Chandu's mother, who writes romance novels, visits the gang – much to Chandu's dismay. 

Ending: The show concludes with Raisa and Russel reuniting after their long "we-were-on-a-break" drama, Chandu and Monira's twins, Beebee's marriage and Joy's blockbuster also featuring megastar Jolonto Khalil.
