2 Bangladeshi universities included in 2022-23 US News Best Global Universities rankings

Dhaka University (DU) and Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) have been included in the 2022-23 US News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings. DU ranked at number 977 in Best Global Universities scoring 39.2 out of 100, and at 263 in Best Global Universities in Asia. BUET, on the other hand, although included in the list, remained unranked.

Widely considered one of the most influential rankings of its kind, the US News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings ranked 2,000 of the world's top universities from more than 90 countries. The latest rankings were based on 13 indicators that measured the academic research performance as well as the global and regional reputations of these universities.

It is to be noted that earlier last week, Yale and Harvard Law withdrew from the US News rankings. Harvard Law School Dean John Manning said that the rankings often highlight characteristics of a university that might mislead students. Yale Law School Dean Heather Gerken, on the other hand, called the ranking 'profoundly flawed'.
