I often hear my relatives talk about the time they spent in public university dorms during their student years. For them, it was an exciting experience, nothing short of an adventure into the wilderness. Now that I have seen the state of our public university dorms, I can understand what kind of wilderness my relatives were talking about.
Our public university dorms are mostly a mess. Affordability is perhaps the only reason why students stay in these dorms. Either that, or they can't find a safe place to stay near their university when their homes are rather far or in another city or district. However, that does not mean that these students have to settle for such poor living conditions.
Public university dorms are almost always under scrutiny, both by those living there, and by those who once lived there. Years go by, and the situation with these dorms remain unchanged. Yet, students from all parts of the country do whatever they can to get at a seat at these dorms.
