Songs that Haunted Us in 2015

Every year, even though we happily say goodbye to the songs that haunted us in the past 12 months, deep down inside we all know that the coming year will be worse. Far worse.

1.     ADELE – HELLO
"Hello, it's me, I was wondering
If after all these years you'd like to meet to F$%@I&~ END THIS SONG"
From social media to phone calls from your corny friends, this song is the Dhanmondi Lake of pop songs: an overly-popular, over-saturated shadow of something that could actually have been pretty good. Pls no more of this.

2.     DRAKE – HOTLINE BLING
At first when you see Hotline Bling, it's simply wonderful. You keep watching the video, trying to make sense of Drake's bizarre "dance moves" and before you know it, when someone calls you and says "Hello, it's me—" you cut in with a scream, "YOU USED TO CALL ME ON MY CELL PHONE." Soon enough, Hotline Bling starts consuming your newsfeed, your conversations, your mind and your life. Another promising young career ended, and the circle of internet meme hatred continues.

3.     BAD BLOOD – TAYLOR SWIFT FT. KENDRICK LAMAR
Bad Blood, also known as "How-Many-Stars-Can-We-Cram-Into-One-Video?", starts off with Rihanna and Taylor Swift boldly fighting blindfolded men, as they do. They split up and then begins the abuse of special effects with Kendrick Lamar making easy money in the middle. The music video broke several YouTube records and eardrums but to this day has never managed to justify it in any way.

4.     SILENTÓ – WATCH ME (WHIP/NAE NAE)
The interactive dance tutorial by Silentó (pronounced See-lent-ho) is the underdog in the race and for explicit research purposes, I watched it twice. Suffice to say after that just "Watch Me Weep, Weep, and say No No." This carcinogenic song managed to penetrate all levels of society to become the go-to party song, thus disintegrating the fabric of society. Also, bonus cringe points for the white soccer moms trying to dance along to the obviously superior black dancers in the music video.

5.     LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO – ELLIE GOULDING
I refuse to listen to this song used in that *shady* movie and write about it. No one needs that much love. I'm done here.
