What is your style mantra?
I always opt for clothes that suit me well, but are still fashionable and trendy. However, I never jeopardise my comfort over style.
Who is your favourite style icon?
I would say Sharukh Khan is my favourite style icon. He carries himself the way a celebrity should, and I admire that quality in him. He also prefers wearing darker colours which I try to follow as they tend to suit every occasion. However, since our country’s weather is very humid, I like wearing linen during summer.
Do you have any favourite fashion designers or fashion brands?
The fashion designing industry has not yet flourished in Bangladesh, so, I don’t really have a favourite fashion designer. I usually buy clothes whenever I travel abroad. My go-to brands include Giorgio Armani and Hugo Boss. If I need jeans I prefer Giorgio Armani, Abercrombie & Fitch and True Religion. For shoes, my favourite brands are Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo. Rolex is always my go-to for watches. I also love wearing sun-glasses and my favourite brands include Ray Bans, Prada and Tom Ford. I prefer going to my trusted brands, but also try to bring variations to my outfits by keeping up with the fashion magazines.
What is your regular everyday wear and party wear like?
I usually wear t-shirts or linen shirts paired with jeans and sneakers for a casual look. For parties, I mostly wear suits as they suit me very well.
What are your favourite accessories?
I like sunglasses and watches the most. Ties are also one of my favourite accessories. I dislike wearing any kind of rings or chains.
Is there anything you never leave the house without?
I never leave the house without my cell-phone, watch and sunglass.
If you had to choose an accessory that you could never wear again, what would you choose?
I would have to choose belts and wallets. I am very prone to losing my wallet so I don’t usually carry it with me.
What is a fashion trend you dislike?
I dislike floral trend that is quite popular nowadays. However, if someone has the physique and the personality to sport the look, they should definitely try it. I am also not a fan of shiny or glittery outfits. They may be suitable for stage shows, but not for formal events.
What would be a fashion message you would like to give to the readers?
Fashion is always changing and evolving, and I suggest that the readers experiment with it, given that it suits them. I would suggest wearing comfortable, light-coloured clothes made of cotton or linen. Rather than keeping up with the trends, one should always use fashion as a way to express themselves.
