Asaduzzaman Noor

After almost twenty years, Asaduzzaman Noor took part in a stage play in 2019. He acted in a play, called Kalo Joler Kabbo. Even though it was difficult for him to stay away from theatre for such a long time, he was able to help the people from his community by working with the government. Regarding his long break, he said, “I didn’t have the enjoyment of appearing onstage for a long time, but the pleasure I got from helping people out made up for it. It makes me happy to see that I could even make one-person smile, so taking that hiatus was worth it.” Even though he appeared onstage after a very long time, his acting in Kalo Joler Kabbo seemed so effortless that it felt like he wasn’t acting. Theatre isn’t the only platform Asaduzzaman Noor has been seen in. He also left a lasting impression on the world of film and television. He revealed that when he was doing his recent stage play, he had added bits and pieces of the character himself, and that even though the director had instructed specifically about how the character should be, some parts were thought of by Asaduzzaman Noor himself. Kalo Joler Kabbo is like a rendition of The Merchant of Venice, and Asaduzzaman Noor played the role of Shylock. Even though Shylock is not a comedic character, he gave the character a comedic tone, and in the end, that seemed to fit the play very well.
