A love story in South Korea blooms between Captain Yoo Shi Jin of the Korean Special Forces and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon, a surgeon at Haesung Hospital. Their professions affect their love-life and they come across dangers that they must face together in the war-torn country they live in.
The series begins with a conflict between North Korean and South Korean Special Forces when three North Korean members crossed the Military Demarcation Line of the Demilitarized Zone. The next scene starts where Yoo Shi-Jin, the captain of South Korean Special Forces unit, along with the Master Sergeant Seo Dae-young, catches a motorcycle thief and during the capture the thief becomes injured and is sent to the hospital for treatment.
In the meantime, the thief steals Seo Dae-young's cell phone which he realizes later and both goes to the hospital to retrieve it. In the emergency room, Yoo Shi-Jin first meets Dr. Kang Mo-yeon and gets attracted to her immediately after their first meeting. But Dr. Kang Mo-yeon thinks that Yoo Shi-Jin is a gangster. Yoo Shi-Jin tries to explain himself and during these clarifying scenes they start to fall in love.
On their second meeting they talk about their point of view on life; how Yoo Shi-Jin is someone who might even kill himself to serve his country, whereas Kang Mo-yeon is a doctor who took an oath to save other's life. Due to this difference in viewpoints, they agree to part ways. The story proceeds after eight months when they finally confess their true feelings. Apart from all the differences and all professional and career obstacles they decide to continue their love-lives.
