Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai was previously known as the Bollywood film with the highest worldwide gross. However, a recent popularity surge of Aamir Khan in the Chinese market has lead to a tremendous rise of ticket sales of the film Secret Superstar. With the Rs 400 crore benchmark being tipped over in the Chinese box office alone, the overall worldwide gross of Secret Superstar has now amounted to a whopping Rs 609 crore (roughly $96 million); thus beating Tiger Zinda Hai which holds Rs 553 crore (roughly $87 million) in the worldwide box office gross revenue. This is a notable achievement for Aamir Khan and the distributor of the film, Aamir Khan Productions. Dangal, another of Aamir Khan's films, also made quite the splash in the Chinese theaters after its release.
