Fassbender to play two roles in 'Alien: Covenant'
Director Ridley Scott has hinted that Michael Fassbender would play two roles in the sequel to "Prometheus", titled "Alien: Covenant".
While it's already known that Fassbender will return as the humanoid robot David, the director didn't mention the other role the actor would play. He said that casting of the Covenant crew members was in advanced stages and refused to reveal some possible names.
"Covenant" picks up where "Prometheus" left off and focuses on the crew members of the colony ship Covenant. It discovers "an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world - whose sole inhabitant is the 'synthetic' David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
Serving as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with "Prometheus" and connects directly to Scott's original "Alien", "Covenant" is slated to be released in North America on October 6, 2017.
