Natalie Portman to play Supreme Court Justice in biopic

Natalie Portman

Actress Natalie Portman will play Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a biopic titled "On the Basis of Sex". The film will go on floors by the end of 2015.

It will follow the travails of Ginsburg as she faced numerous obstacles to her fight for equal rights throughout her career, reports deadline.com. In her personal life, the "Black Swan" actress admitted that she also supported women's rights and some other political issues. It may help her get deeper in the character she will play.

Another similarity between Portman and Ginsburg is that they are both Jewish. When Ginsburg was 60, she was appointed by former President Bill Clinton to be the second female Supreme Court Justice and the first Jewish female on the Supreme Court.

However, the biopic will not tell the story about Ginsburg whom people are familiar with today, but it will focus on Ginburg's career before she was appointed to the Supreme Court, which included arguing several cases at the Supreme Court on behalf of the US based NGO American Civil Liberties Union.

Marielle Heller is in negotiations to direct the movie.
