I Could Not Have Asked for a Better Year - Puja Cherry
Star Showbiz: How did the year 2018 embrace you?
Puja Cherry: 2018 was perhaps the best year of my life so far. My debut film Noorjahan saw the lights of reality, and then came Poramon 2, arguably the most discussed film of the year. This one film has given me so much more than I could ever wish; I barely have the right words to explain. By the end of the year, my film Dohon was released. I worked very hard for this particular film. And I think I got my perfect reward for that. I could not have asked for a better year!
Showbiz: What kind of feedback did you receive after 'Dohon'?
Puja: I received a lot of positive feedback. I played a rather exceptional character in the film. In order to develop my ability to adapt the character Asha, I spent a good amount of time at a local garments workplace. I became one of them to understand their philosophy of life. I learned how they walk, how they talk. And to my satisfaction, many of audiences gave me credit for seeming natural on screen. The whole experience had been overwhelming.
Showbiz: Would you call the year 2018 as your 'turning-point'?
Puja: Yes, definitely. From making my debut to attaining such a height of appreciation by the end of the year – it really has been a year worth cherishing!
Showbiz: Let us know about your plans for the upcoming year.
Puja: My next film Prem Amar 2 is set to be released in February, 2019. It features a blissful love-story that is sure to delight the audience. I am hopeful that my followers will discover the congruent charm in Prem Amar 2, too. Other than this, I have my SSC exams in February. So I will be occupied with my studies.
