Shooting for the film Shahenshah recently took place at FDC. Fans of Shakib Khan gathered outside the place to get a glimpse of their beloved hero. He was there to shoot a scene where he met Nusraat Faria's onscreen character, Layla for the first time. Set extras were instructed to play with colors on the set. Shakib Khan was in full costume, with a side of his face covered in color. When Shakib Khan and Nusraat Faria faced each other on set, they looked at each other with admiration, as per direction. With the camera rolling, Nusraat made her way out of the scene, and Shakib kept looking at her. Director Shamim Ahmed Roni said about this scene, “Shakib Khan's Shahenshah came to visit the Boro Nawab in this scene. When he was making his way out, he saw the Boro Nawab's daughter in the festival of colors. He immediately took a liking to her.” After shooting, directors Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, Badiul Alam Khokon and Shahin Kabir Tutul came to visit Shakib Khan. Throughout the entire day Shakib Khan kept on saying, “Someone from the film fraternity should stand for the parliament elections. That person can tell the parliament about our sufferings. Whoever it is, I will support them. If people from other places can contest in elections, why can't we do it as well?” Before evening, Shakib Khan removed his makeup, and headed to Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka Hotel for a meeting.
