Face wash to be pricier 

The prices of face wash items are likely to be increased as the government has proposed increasing tax on face cleansers in the national budget for 2023-24 fiscal year.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today proposed imposing 20 per cent regulatory duty on face wash items from the next fiscal year.

"As there is a difference in the total tax incidence on the import of all types of face wash, we propose to impose a regulatory duty of 20 per cent on the import of some products and make the total tax incidence equal at 89.32 per cent," Kamal said in his budget speech.

This will reduce the scope of misdeclaration at the import stage, he said.
