Tk 5cr in one T20 season for Shakib
Bangladesh ace cricketer, the number one allrounder in ODIs Shakib Al Hasan is a name that organizers and team owners of franchised-based T20 leagues cannot ignore...in fact Shakib will feature in four separate T20 leagues of four countries all in one season!
A useful middle-order batter and a penetrative slow left arm bowler, Shakib is like two cricketers in one body, and his demand gets higher and higher with every tournament he participates. This year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will see the Bangladeshi star dazzle for Jamaica Tallawahs after his service was confirmed for $110,000 or 87 lakh taka, reports Prothom Alo.
This season Shakib will play in four T20 leagues around the world. At present, he is playing for Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League. Karachi obtained Shakib’s nod for $140,000 or 1 crore 10 lakh taka. Shakib’s price was the third highest in PSL.
He was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for Indian Premier League 2016 for $417,000 or 3 crore 24 lakh taka. At CPL Shakib was acquired by Jamaica Tallawahs for $110,000 or 87 lakh taka. During Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Shakib was selected by Rangpur Riders for $45,000 or 35 lakh taka.
By playing in these four leagues, Shakib will earn $712,000, that amounts to 5 crore 56 lakh taka in a single season...a remarkable feat for our favourite cricketer indeed!
Shakib was first drafted by Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata team in 2011 for $425,000. After the 2011 IPL season, Shakib didn’t need to look back as his performance on the field took him to new heights.
At the PSL, Shakib has played five matches so far. He scored 98 runs and took two wickets for his side.
