Bangladesh A clinch one-day series with third win
Bangladesh A clinched the series against Ireland A with a four wicket victory in the fourth match at Cox's Bazar today.
The match, originally meant be a 50-over game, was shortened to a 20-over per side affair after both teams agreed to not play three one-dayers in just as many days.
Chasing 171 for victory, Bangladesh A lost a few quick wickets but a fiery third-wicket partnership between Nazmul Hasan Shanto, who struck a 26-ball 47 and Al Amin saw Bangladesh A stamp their authority on the match.
Al Amin struck a team high 40-ball 67 before he fell on the penultimate ball of the 19th over with the score on 162. Bangladesh A however overhauled the Ireland A total with two balls to spare.
Earlier, Bangladesh A won the toss and elected to field first. Andy Balbirnie struck a 51- ball 83 that which saw Ireland A post a formidable total of 171 for the loss of seven wickets against the hosts.
Right-arm medium pacer Imran Ali grabbed three wickets for 33 runs in his four overs. Mahedi Hasan, Abu Hider and Abul Hasan took one wicket each.
