18 runs off that Taskin over as Proteas move towards a big total.

45.2, SA 311/3 - De Villiers hits six off Taskin to bring up his 158.

End of over 45

De Villiers has really gone after the bowlers in this match. Proteas are scoring at a rate of 6.73 per over. De Villiers is getting his runs a t strike rate above 150.

End of over 40, SA 255/3

De Villiers has reached his 25th ODI century and he may really start opening his arms without caution now. His mistimed hit falls safely on the square-leg boundary and captain Mashrafe does not look happy with Rubel Hossain, who was caught in two minds.

37.6, SA 242/3 - De Villiers completes his century. 25th ODI hundred for the South African. He got their with 10 boundaries and a six.

37.4, SA 239/7 - short arm jab from de Villers and ball races away for four. Beautiful.

32.2, SA 201/2 - Amla takes two off Mahmudullah to bring up the 200 for South Africa.

31.3, SA 195/2 - Massive six over mid-one off Nasir from de Villiers.

End of over 30

De Villiers is taking the game away from Bangladesh with his strokeplay. He is on 60 off just 42 deliveries. Hashim Amla is on 64 at the other end. De Villiers improvisations have left the bowlers frustrated. Bangladesh part-time bowlers Sabbir Rahman and Nasir Hossain were introduced to stop the flow of runs but they did not have much impact.

28.1, SA 169/2 - It's De Villiers again and he cuts Sabbir Rahman away for four to bring up his fifty. He struck eight boundaries in this innings.

De villiers has raced to 46 off 31 deliveries. On the last two deliveries off the 26th over he struck two boundaries off Taskin. Taskin was brought back again in the 28th over and de Villiers improvised again as he charged the pacer and smashed him over mid-off for four.

26.1, A 150/2 - Amla takes a single and that takes South Africa score to 150.

End of over 25, SA 140/2

De Villiers is looking increasingly dangerous as he has managed to find his rhythm out in the middle. A confident de Villiers is a dangerous sign for Bangladesh. This is one guy who can really heap misery on Bangladesh bowlers.

23.6, SA 133/2 - De Villers pulls away a slightly shorter delivery from Shakib for four.

22.6, SA 124/2 - Amla steers a slower one from Mashrafe down to third man to bring up his fifty. He receives a round of applause from the Proteas dressing room. Three fours in his innings.

Twin boundaries from De Villiers off Mashrafe in the 21st over releases the pressure somewhat. De Villiers, who has been away from any form of cricket for a while will be looking to get back some form.

End of over 20, SA 100/2, Amla 41, De Villers 7

De Villers edged Shakib's floater towards the slip but no one could react in time. A half-chance but that could have been a crucial wicket for the Tigers.

18.4, SA 94/2 - Hesitation between Amla and De Villers and Amla almost sold a dummy to his partner. De Villers sets off down the other end but Mahsrafe at mid-on can't hold on to the ball and de Villers returns safely. That was close.

17.6, SA 90/2 - Shakib beats Proteas captain Faf du Plessis completely in flight and then the delivery straightens to go past his defences. Clean bowled. Shakib gets another one.

F du Plessis b Shakib Al Hasan 0 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

17.3, SA 90/0  - Shakib Al Hasan finally gets the breakthrough that Tigers were looking for. De Kock looks to play a delivery that landed slightly outside the off stump on the on side but misses the line. Shakib catches him on the crease and de kock is gone, out leg-before.

Q de Kock lbw b Shakib Al Hasan 46 (61b 1x4 0x6) SR: 75.40

South Africa have run the singles and the doubles hard. With the field missing patches of grasses here and there, Tigers have been slipping and sliding and Amla and de kock have taken advantage.

End of over 15

South Africa have picked up another 27 runs from the last 10 overs. This Amla, de Kock pairing has been incredibly persistent in building their innings. No joy for the Bangladesh bowlers yet. The slow and inconsistent outfield has made fielding difficult but the batsmen have also looked to play their shots harder.

12.3, SA 61/0 - de Kock plays  ashot in anger as Rubel pitches it slightly short on the off stump. de Kock does not connect with his pull shot.

Shakib Al hasan has been brought into the attack. Tigers' need to put some pressure on the scoring rate of this opening duo in order force them into false shots. The pitch right now looks in excellent condition. The 11th and 12th over brought seven runs and that's a positive for the Tigers. They need to ensure the pressure is not released with bad deliveries.

End of over 10

South Africa have dominated proceedings at paarl as the Bangladesh bowlers continue to struggle and find a breakthrough in this ODI series. Amla is on 23 and de Kock is on 24 runs.

9.6, SA 50/0 - De Kock takes a single off Nasir and that brings up the fifty for SA.

9.2, SA 47/0 - Amla goes after Nasir. Looked like it would go to the boundary as Amla lofted the delivery but the batsmen run three as the ball stopped after landing.

7.1, SA 32/0 -  Taskin with a short delivery and Amla pulls it away for four.

The Proteas batmen have gone about their business with calmness and poise. Any bad delivery has been punished while they have shown respect to the good ones.

End of over 5

South African openers havin started solidly yet again. Proteas are 18 for no loss after five overs.

3.4, SA 14/0 - This time Taskin Ahmed bowls a half-volley and de Kock leans into the drive. Another boundary.

2.2 overs, SA 8/0 - sweet extra cover drive from Amla off Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Four runs!

Welcome to our live updates of the second ODI between Bangladesh and South Africa at Paarl.

18 runs off that Taskin over as Proteas move towards a big total.

HM Amla c Mushfiqur Rahim b Rubel Hossain 85 (92b 4x4 0x6) SR: 92.39

End of over 35, SA 219/2
