Mushfiqur under injury cloud
Rajshahi Kings' wicketkeeper-batsman and Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim is under an injury cloud after hurting his left index finger during the 33-run win over Chittagong Vikings in the Bangladesh Premier League match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium today.
Mushfiqur incurred the injury in the first over of Chittagong's chase of 158 when he dived to his left to stop a wayward Mohammad Sami delivery that went away for five wides. He continued to keep wickets till the end of the next over, before handing over the gloves to Zakir Hasan and walking off.
Mushfiqur will undergo an X-ray in the evening.
The injury only exacerbates what has so far been an inauspicious tournament for the diminutive cricketer. He has scored just 170 runs from 10 matches in the tournament so far and has hit just one half-century. He seemed to be striking some form in the match against Chittagong, reaching 31 off 21 balls, but holed out to long on off Nayeem Hasan.
