‘Thoughts are with the rain-affected people of Bangladesh’
Australia coach Darren Lehmann says that his thoughts are with the people of Bangladesh who are suffering due to excessive rain.
The coach lauded the efforts from Bangladesh Cricket board (BCB) and said: "The BCB has been fantastic trying to get us the game."
"The amount of rain hasn't helped. We looked at various facilities around Dhaka."
He felt for the people of Bangladesh who are dealing with excessive rainfall for the past couple of weeks.
"We feel for the people of Bangladesh with the amount of rain they have had.
"There are a lot of people in this country struggling because of the rain so the thoughts are with them," Lehmann added.
Australia had earlier informed the BCB about not playing the tour match and hoped that the rain stays away during the Test matches.
"I haven't seen the wicket in Mirpur. It will be a good wicket here traditionally. The outfield will be fine and hopefully the rain stays away.
"They are really working hard to get it up. That's all we can ask. We hope that it is dry and we get a great Test match."
