Mominul Haque becomes Bangladesh's highest scorer in a single Test match, beating Tamim Iqbal's record.

The diminutive left-hander, who became the fastest to reach 2000 Test runs for Bangladesh during his 176-run knock in the first innings – coincidentally by beating Tamim's record, is currently not out on 70 at lunch on Day 5 of the first Test against Sri Lanka. His combined first and second innings score in the Test now stands at 245.

In the 47th over, Mominul struck a single off Lahiru Kumara to reach the landmark. Previous record holder Tamim Iqbal struck a second innings double century against Pakistan back in 2015 which saw him hold the record for most runs in Test with 231 runs.
