Mominul up for the challenge
It was in 2014 when Bangladesh batsman Mominul Haque acquired an astonishing batting average of 75.70 in seven tests.
Mominul still possesses an impressive average 46.88 from 22 Test matches. The confident batsman who has a gifted technique was not at all bothered with his dip in average, while talking to reporters.
He tackled the question without a hitch and replied: "It's nothing to be surprised about (regarding the dip in average) and once you start playing more, its alomost impossible to maintain a steady graph regularly."
"He suggested that even the best batsmen in the world face problems…so your graph descends at a certain time. So, you have to overcome that period and play well again and if you can play well then that's the biggest challenge …for me it's my challenge. I want to overcome that hurdle and I'm working on that.
At one point Mominul was being named alongside Sir Don Bradman as he was second to the legendary Australian batsman in terms of batting average (75.70) among players who have scored 700 Test runs. He however does not pay attention to the numbers and is more concerned with the reality he is facing.
Mominul will face a battle to feature for Bangladesh squad in the upcoming Tests against Australia.
"I have not thought [about being selected] and right now I am focused on practice. There is one more practice match so I am working on the things that needs to be worked on.
"It's up to the team management to decide whether I will play or not," he concluded.
