BD Women’s A lose T20 series
Bangladesh Women's A team suffered a 30-run defeat at the hands of their Indian counterparts in their last match of the three-match T20 series at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Coxs Bazar today. The defeat meant that Bangladesh lost the T20 series 1-0 after the first two matches of the series were abandoned due to rain.
Electing to field, Bangladesh restricted India to 111 for seven in 20 overs. After opener Yastika Bhatia's run-a-ball 18 and another 20-ball 19 from Devika Vadiya, it was an unbeaten 32-ball 28 from Tejal Hasabnis that helped the visitors post a modest total. Khadiza Tul Kubra was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh A women's, returning figures of three for 12 in four overs.
After the exchange, a batting debacle saw Bangladesh falter as they could only manage to score 81 for nine in 20 overs. A team high of 18-ball 15 came from the bat of Nuzhat Tumpa while only three other batters could manage a double-figure score.
