Mushy, Avishek and Taibur light up DPL opening day

A century from captain Mushfiqur Rahim saw Abahani win their opening day Dhaka Premier League (DPL) encounter against Partex Sporting Club at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today while Avishek Das of OLD DOHS Sports Club and Taibur Rahman of Prime Doleshwar led their sides to win on the opening day as well with impressive performances as well.

Abahani were in early trouble, losing both openers Liton Das and Mohammad Naim within seven deliveries of the innings. Mushfiqur's 124-ball 127 and Mosaddek Hossain's 61, helped Abahani to 289 for seven before left-arm pacer Mehedi Hasan Rana broke Partex's resolve with four wickets for 55 runs to see them bowled out for 208.

AT BKSP's Ground 4 in Savar, Avishek Das's three for 44 helped DOHS defend 230, bowling Rupganj out for 205.

Taibu struck a 94-ball 110, laced with seven fours and five sixes as Doleshwar posted 238 for seven before Rejaur Rahman bagged four for 36 to help his side to a eight-run victory over Brothers Union.
