Naeem doing fine after head injury

Bangladesh off-spinner Nayeem Hasan suffered a hit on the head from a stray ball during Bangladesh's practice session at the Eden Gardens today. While there was concern about his injury initially, BCB have confirmed that the player is fine as the injury is not serious.

Nayeem was taken to a city hospital after the injury and the scans revealed that there was nothing serious.

Shoptorshi Bashu, one of the doctors in the hospital said: "He was brought here and he was given treatment. Scans were done and everything was normal. He was just feeling a little pain due to the hit."

Bangladesh already suffered a blow when Saif Hassan was ruled out from the Eden Test due to a hand injury and there was concern over whether Nayeem will be available for the second Test. BCB confirmed to The Daily Star that Nayeem was doing fine at the moment.
