Taskin Ahmed included in Test squad
The Bangladesh Cricket Board annoucned the Test squad following the announcement of the ODI squad and Taskin Ahmed was included in the lineup.
There was no place for Imrul Kayes after a poor showing in the Test series against West Indies at home. Paceman Abu Jayed Rahi was included while Khaled Ahmed was retained alongside spinner Nayeem Hasan. Liton Kumar Das, who played the second Test against West Indies as a wicket-keeper after Mushfiqur Rahim had suffered a slight injury, has been included in the squad but there was no place for Soumya Sarkar this time. Opener Shadman Islam, who had a bright debut has also been retained in the side while all-rounder Ariful Haque was exluded.
The selectors informed that another member will be included in the squad in 10 days time.
Taskin, who last featured in the Test team during last year's series away to South Africa in September, got back in to the team after some notable performances during the ongoing BPL. The selectors noted that his pace was a crucial factor to him getting picked in the side. The three-match Test series will begin on February 28 after the conclusion of the ODI series on February 20.
