Bangladesh batsman Liton Das said that the break in play enforced by the coronavirus pandemic has set the players in the backfoot. He said he is trying to bring back his focus with more practice while talking in a BCB press release.

Liton, who has been doing individual session like all the players as the Tigers gear up for the Sri Lanka Tests in October said he had worked on small things in his game and analysed his own batting.

"I was home most of the time during lockdown. I tried to do those things one can do at home like running and treadmill.

"It was tough. We were continually playing cricket and from a certain point there was a break and we couldn't come to the ground. It's different what you can do at home compared to the ground. It was very painful not playing but during those times I watched my batting from previous matches to see what I could improve and talked to the coaches about what to do. Also did some drills at home, which didn't require going to the ground," he said.

He felt really good to be back into some normality after being in lockdown for such a long period of time. Being among friend and colleagues was helping him get back to a cricketing mindset.

"Feeling really good after returning to Mirpur. Being able to hold the cricket bat and also batting at the wicket after such a long time is giving relief that there is cricket in the future. And truly there is cricket coming up. So the effort will be there so that we can take something good from here and play good cricket there.

"Overall coming to the ground and meeting everyone. Those that I play with, its good to be able share and talk to them again. There are good feelings."

He reiterated that the players will be on the backfoot but following his exploits against Zimbabwe when he produced two big ODI tons and a half century in the lone Test.

"Due to the gap, maybe I am on the backfoot; not just me but everyone. The bowlers, the batsmen, those who are in the eleven will be on the backfoot because the gap has been quiet a good number of days. I feel that I have confidence from the series before. Obviously I am not overconfident though since every match is important and you only need one delivery to get out. Its what I believe and that's why I have to keep my focus on every delivery. I am trying to bring that focus through my practice, the way I did during my previous series," he concluded.
