The Bangladesh cricket team departed from New Zealand this morning at 5am BDT (12pm local).

Badly shaken up following the incidents yesterday when several attacks took place in Christchurch with the Tigers themselves narrowly escaping danger, the Bangladesh team this afternoon looked a bit more relaxed. The team travelled from their hotel to the Christchurch Airport under police escort.

Armed police guarded them as they made their way through the airport. Bangladesh's support staff were scheduled for a later flight, according to Stuff.co.nz report.

The players were seen joking around with team operations manager Khaled Mashud Pilot while chatting away their time during their wait in the lounge of the airport.
