‘Will be doing our best in ODIs’
Bangladesh coach Steve Rhodes reiterated that his team would like to do their best in the ODI series in New Zealand in what will be a good opportunity to gauge their performance before the World Cup.
Bangladesh won 13 of their 20 ODIs last year under Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's guidance and coach Rhodes was more optimistic about their chances away to New Zealand in Tigers' favourite format than in Tests. Part of the Bangladesh squad left for New Zealand this afternoon while the rest will leave after the conclusion of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
"I hope we win some games. I will be great for us to win some games of cricket there. Its not easy as was proved last time. But we are very happy with the players. We are very happy with the performances of the players recently," Rhodes said while talking to reporters at the airport today.
"To do well in the ODI format, you know that's something we pride ourselves on. So we will be doing our very best in the ODIs. Test matches, very difficult. Again we are a little bit better equipped now for playing away from home. Hopefully we can produce some result in the Test matches," he concluded.
