‘Bangladesh unbeatable at home’
Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan says that Bangladesh 'are unbeatable at home'.
The Premier all-rounder, who is the top ranked all-rounder in all three formats of the game gave his view on Bangladesh's change in mentality in an interview with The Guardian.
"Previously the mindset was to draw against big teams – try to play five days, make a draw," he told The Guardian.
"But there is no shortage of self-belief at this moment… Now we feel that we are very much unbeatable at home – doesn't matter who we are playing against. So this is the belief that makes a team a very good team, and a winning team."
Shakib has not always been considered among the best all-rounders in the Test format despite being top-ranked on all formats of the game. However, that's not a slight on him since Bangladesh hardly feature in Test matches.
Since Shakib's Test debut in 2007, has has featured in 49 of the 56 Tests Bangladesh have played. During that period, teams like Australia and England have played 114 an131 Tests respectively.
That's a huge gap in 'Test action' for Bangladesh compared to the top sides in cricket.
Shakib said: "It is frustrating, we can see the difference. But that's how it is. We can't do anything."
