Shakib gaining confidence with each Sunrisers session
Bangladesh's ace T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan has joined up with his new IPL team Hyderabad and the all-rounder suggests that he is gaining confidence with each session in the nets.
Shakib Al Hasan played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the past seven seasons but after only featuring in one match in last year's IPL, the all-rounder was released by the Riders before the upcoming season. He joined the Sunrisers outfit which will be led by New Zealand's Kane Williams for the upcoming IPL. Shakib had suffered an injury to his little finger during the tri-series final against Sri Lanka. The cricketer was forced to sit out matches in the Nidahas Trophy before he made a return to the side for the match against Sri Lanka. Shakib however was not at his best, owing to the injury and informed that he still remains a bit nervous regarding his injury.
Sunrisers Hyderabad recently posted a video of Shakib doing a session with his new teammates. Shakib informed that things were moving well. The all-rounder bowled and batted in the net session and looked happy with the output.
"[The session] felt great. I was obviously a bit nervous before the training but after training I am feeling confident," he said.
He was looking forward to maintaining his confidence and to be ready both mentally and physically for Sunrisers opening fixture against Rajasthan Royals on March 9.
"It was a very good session and hope I can take this confidence to tomorrow the next day and to 9th [March]," he added.
He hoped that his team could go on to achieve good things in the tournament.
"Hopefully they [the fans] will keep on supporting us…that's all I can say and we have a very good team and hopefully we can go all the way," he added.
