Bangladesh eye top finish
Bangladesh hockey team will be hoping to finish on top of Pool A in the Men's 5th AHF Cup when they take on lowly Macau in the final pool match at King's Park hockey ground in Hong Kong today.
Bangladesh are on top of the four-team table with maximum six points followed by hosts Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei, who have three points each from two outings. To become pool champions, defending champions Bangladesh will need a draw against winless Macau, who conceded seven goals in their first two matches.
Though the opponents are considered minnows, Bangladesh captain Rasel Mahmud Jimmy wants to take the match seriously. “We are not taking any opposition lightly. We want to keep the tempo from the first two matches and want to leave the field with an outright victory,” Jimmy said in a facebook conversation.
The men in red and green did not practise yesterday but went through a video analysis session.
