[WATCH]: Bangla-Shake
Last over. Bangladesh needed 4 runs from 6 balls to clinch 3rd place. Sri Lanka pacer Kumara had the ball in hand. Mehedi Hasan Rana and Jaker Ali had the responsibility to take their team home. Three runs in the first two balls eased the tension, and the Bangladeshi players were all waiting beyond the boundary rope….
Jaker Ali held his nerve and smashed the third ball from Kumara to the fence…Tigers won by three wickets.
Jaker broke into a jig, and his teammates rushed onto the field to embrace him. Fatuallah raised itself to a roar!
The dance of joy even had Halim to emulate…moving the hips to the rhythm of uninhibited passion and enthusiasm while the hands did the balancing act.
A tense match resulted in the brilliant finish, as Bangladesh earned some consolation for missing out on the final.
However, those who saw the match till the end would never forget Jakir…and after February 13, all the kids in the marketplace say: Dance like a Jakir!
