Grandmaster Niaz Murshed finished 20th in the 12th IGB Dato Arthur Tan Malaysian Open Chess, which concluded in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, said a press release from Bangladesh Chess Federation. Niaz earned six points from nine rounds.

FM Fahad Rahman became 89th with four points. In the last round, Niaz drew against IM CRG. Krishna of India while Fahad lost against Chan Yi Meng Ryan of Malaysia. Meanwhile, Hanif Mollah became 34th with 5.5 points while Monir Hossain became 42nd with five points in another rated event in Malaysia.
