Bangladesh end day one on 236/4 on the back of some responsible batting from the top-order and a number of missed chances by the Pakistan fielders at Khulna today.

Mominul Haque was unfortunate to be dismissed on the second-last ball of the day when he was plumb leg-before-wicket to Zulfiqar Babar for 80 runs.

He faced 162 deliveries and struck eight fours in his innings. He rode his luck after being dropped on 17 and went on to make his highest score against Pakistan in test matches.

He was patient to begin with, and began milking the bowling as he progressed in his innings. His partnership of 95 runs with Mahmudullah kept the Pakistani bowlers at bay and propelled Bangladesh to a strong position at the end of day one.

Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Hafeez and Zulfiqar Babar picked up one wicket each during the first day at Khulna. Pakistan fielders spilled several chances created by the bowlers working hard on the batting-friendly wicket at the venue.
