Bangladesh clinched their first ever series victory over Pakistan, when they overwhelmed their opponents by seven wickets in the second game of the three-match ODI series at Mirpur today.

The comprehensive victory with 11.5 overs remaining gave Tigers an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Man-of-the-match Tamim Iqbal stole the show with his sensational century, and was unbeaten on 116 runs from 116 balls with seventeen 4s and one huge six to his name.

He was ably supported by Musfiqur Rahim who hammered eight 4s and one six in his knock of 65 runs from only 70 balls.

Pakistan 239/6 (50.0 over)

Their partnership of 118 runs took the wind out of Pakistan's sails and ensured smooth sailing for Tigers towards a memorable win witnessed by the honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family.

Mahmudullah played second fiddle to the 2nd wicket partnership of 78 runs with Tamim Iqbal, but failed to connect Saeed Ajmal's delivery and got bowled for 17 runs, giving the offspinner his first and only wicket of the match.

Saeed Ajmal was Pakistan's most successful bowler with one wicket for 49 runs in 9.1 overs.

Earlier in the match, a crucial partnership of 85 runs in the last 11 overs between Saad Nasim and Wahab Riaz gave Pakistan a challenging total against Bangladesh to defend.

Saad was unbeaten on 77 runs from 96 balls (six 4s, 1 6s) while Wahab Riaz gave him good company with a breezy 51 not out from 40 balls (five 4s, two 6s).

Shakib Al Hasan was the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh with two wickets for 51 runs in ten overs.

Mashrafe broke Pakistan's most productive partnership of 77 runs when he caught and bowled Haris Sohail for 44 runs.

At 77/5, Pakistan were staring down the barrel, fortunately Saad Nasim and Haris Sohail stopped the slide and began rebuilding the innings.

Shakib Al Hasan returned for his second spell and almost immediately dashed Pakistan's hopes of a decent total by dismissing Mohammad Rizwan with his quicker arm-ball.

Pakistan's innings was further rocked by the loss of their fourth wicket as Fawad Alam was comprehensively bowled by Nasir Hossain for a duck.

Azhar Ali who was looking solid with 36 runs to his name reverse swept Shakib Al Hasan's fullish delivery into the gloves of Mushfiqur Rahim, to leave his team reeling early in this match.

Arafat Sunny sent back Pakistan's most experienced batsman Mohammad Hafeez for a 6-ball duck with his arm ball and gave Tigers the upper hand.

Rubel Hossain gave Tigers the first breakthrough with the first ball of his spell as he dismissed Pakistan opener Sarfraz Ahmed for only 7 runs.

Pakistan captain Azhar Ali won the toss and decided to bat first in the 2nd game of the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.
