BCB announces T20 squad
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a 14-member squad for the two-match T20 series against South Africa due to take place on July 5 and 7.
Mahmudullah Riyad, Taskin Ahmed and Abul Hasan are the players left out from the T20 squad that played against Pakistan earlier this year. They have been replaced with spinners Jubair Hossain, Shohag Gazi and pacer Rubel Hossain.
"Mahmudullah has not completely recovered from his finger injury. He is not completely fit as yet. However, hopefully we can get him by the time the ODI series begins," Chief Selector Faruque Ahmed told The Daily Star.
Taskin, who suffered a side strain has also been left out while Abul has been dropped, he added.
"We have decided to include two spinners (Jubair and Shohag) considering our opponent and the place where we are playing."
