India have named star pacer Jasprit Bumrah in their 15-man preliminary squad for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy but the pacer's place in the squad is still not confirmed.
Bumrah has not featured for India in any format since the Test series in Australia, which ended in early January.
The pacer could not bowl on the third and final day of the fifth Test in the series due to back issues, and India also lost the match by six wickets and conceded the series 3-1.
Although India named him in their provisional squad for the Champions Trophy on January 18, the pacer has reportedly still not fully healed from his back problems and hence was not picked in India's white-ball series at home against England.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the BCCI had taken him for scans recently and has decided to wait till February 11, the deadline for final squad submission for the ICC event, before taking a call on the pacer.
Earlier, Indian selector Ajit Agarkar had told the media that Bumrah would likely take part in the latter part of the England series, but that has not been the case as the pacer is not currently with the team ahead of the third ODI against England, which will take place on February 12.
The Champions Trophy will begin on February 19.
