England bowl against Australia in Champions Trophy
England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field against Australia in their Champions Trophy Group A match at Edgbaston on Saturday.
England, already through to the semi-finals of a tournament featuring the world's top eight one-day international sides, were unchanged from the team that beat New Zealand by 87 runs in Cardiff on Tuesday.
Australia who had to win this match to go through to the last four after no result washouts in their first two group games, were also unchanged from the side that suffered a frustrating washout when on the verge of victory against Bangladesh at the Oval on Monday.
"We wanted to bat first," said Australia captain Steve Smith at the toss.
"We want a good total first up. It (the pitch) looks a bit dry, might take a little bit of spin" he added.
"Hopefully we can have a good day today. England have been playing some particularly good cricket here at home and they're a good opposition so we'll have to be at our best today."
Grey skies above Edgbaston suggested this match too could be interrupted by bad weather, with rain forecast later in the day.
"It hasn't been ideal but you can't do much about that," said Smith of Australia's rain-marred campaign.
"It's about having the right attitude and hopefully putting on a good show."
Morgan, explaining his decision to field first, said: "There is a hint of rain around later on and it's always been a good batting track here, so hopefully we can chase them down.
"I think we've played with an element of freedom for quite a while now -- that there's nothing resting on this game (for England) doesn't really make a difference.
"We're playing Australia and it's a big game for us. We're two from two and we want to make it three from three."
Australia resisted the temptation to bring in the big-hitting Chris Lynn or recall seamer John Hastings.
Only a win will do for World Cup champions Australia in Saturday's match as another no result would see Bangladesh, who defeated New Zealand by five wickets in Cardiff on Friday, into the knockout phase.
Australia have not won at Edgbaston for 12 matches in all formats since an Ashes Test success in 2001, with that run including a group defeat by England on the Birmingham ground in the last Champions Trophy four years ago.
