Nasir to play for Tigers today
Bangladesh allrounder Nasir Hossain will get the chance to answer the call of duty for his country when Bangladesh face England in the second match of the 3-game ODI series at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur today.
If everything goes as per the Bangladesh team management's plan, then the Tigers allrounder will return to the playing eleven and make his first appearance in the series. As per the current plan, Nasir will replace slow left armer Mosharraf Hossain.
After the gut-wrenching 21-run loss in the first ODI on October 7, Bangladesh need to win today's encounter, scheduled to start at 2:30pm local time to keep this series alive.
Nasir Hossain played a good hand in the tour match for BCB XI against England, and gave the innings some late-order boost with 46 runs in 45 balls. During the visitor's chase, Nasir bowled three overs and gave away 25 runs.
Nasir played his last ODI on November 11, 2015 against Zimbabwe at Mirpur, and was dismissed for a two-ball duck. In his ODI career, he has played 56 matches, scored 1231 runs at an average of 32.39 and taken 19 wickets. His lone century came against Pakistan in 2011.
