India hammer Pakistan to go through to the final
Shabnam Gill’s ton helps India beat Pakistan by 203 runs in the ICC U-19 World Cup semi final at Christchurch today.
The defeat was Pakistan’s largest-margin defeat in the ICC U-19 World Cup stage. Having won the toss, India opted to bat first and posted 272 runs on the board for the loss of nine wickets courtesy of Gill’s 94-ball 102 – an innings that contained seven fours.
In reply, Pakistan U19s were bowled out for a meagre 69 runs as medium pacer Ishan Porel bagged four wickets while Shiva Singh and Riyan Parag took two wickets each.
