Khelaghar stay in DPL
Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity retained a spot for next season's Dhaka Premier League by winning their respective relegation playoff game against Partex Sporting Club. Tanvir Islam proved to be the hero as he spun his side to a comfortable eight-wicket victory at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium yesterday.
The outcome also ensured that Victoria Sporting Club and Partex were both relegated to the Dhaka First Division Cricket League as they are on two points each while Khelaghar moved to eight points.
On the other hand, Shinepukur Cricket Club and Agrani Bank have been promoted to the Premier League as First Division champions and runners-up respectively.
The two remaining relegation playoffs will now merely be formalities.
Left-arm spinner Tanvir scalped six wickets for just 18 runs from his 9.1 overs as Partex were shot out for a measly 73 runs in 25.1 overs. So far, this has been the best bowling figure in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
Khelaghar reached the target in only 15.1 overs with Robiul Islam Robi scoring 34.
