Mohammad Nabi hammered his highest T20 knock to muscle Chittagong Vikings to 190 for 5 after 20 overs against Rajshahi Kings led by Darren Sammy in the 16th match of Bangladesh Premier League at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium today.

Chittagong were in a spot of bother early as they lost their captain Tamim Iqbal in the second over. Dwayne Smith’s 34 in 19 balls gave Vikings the momentum they needed early. However, after the loss of Jahurul Islam in the tenth over with the score at 4-68, Rajshahi were in the driver’s seat. The fifth-wicket partnership of 105 runs in only 9.1 overs between Nabi and Anamul Haque took the game away from Rajshahi as Chittagong reached the third highest total of BPL 2016.

Nabi was unbeaten on 87 from 37 balls, and he entertained his teammates and the scant crowd at the ZAC stadium with six fours and six hits over the fence. Anamul made 50 from 40 with four fours and two sixes to his name.

Samit Patel of Rajshahi was the most successful bowler for his side today. He took two wickets for 21 runs in four overs.

Score

Chittagong Vikings: 190/5 (20 overs)

Nabi 87*, Haque 50, Patel 2-21
