Ashraful just cannot stop scoring in England

Former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful continues his superb spell of form for Lullington Park Cricket Club in the ongoing season of England's Minor County cricket league.

The 37-year-old had hit as many as 32 boundaries and two sixes on way to pulling off a massive 182 runs off 136 balls against Quarndon Cricket Club today. Ashraful had scored two-third of the runs for his side as Lullington piled up 268 for eight in 45 overs after being sent in to bat first.

Ashraful's latest knock was sensational in more ways than one as he single-handedly took his side to safety from a disastrous start. The Little Master of Bangladesh, who batted as an opener, first saw captain Paul Dawson dismissed after scoring two. He then stitched a 46-run stand with Dasgeer Naukhez, who scored only three runs in the partnership. Lullington suffered a collapse from then on, with all of their next five batters falling for a duck.

From 66 for seven in 13.5 overs, Ashraful continued his magic and found an able partner in Ryan Ware, who scored 47 not out. Ashraful was eventually dismissed with Lullington on a solid ground, on 213 for eight after 35.1 overs. This meant that at the time of Ashraful's dismissal, he had scored around a whopping 85 per cent of his team's runs and also, none of his teammates could reach a double-digit score by then since Ryan Ware was unbeaten on nine.  

At the time of filing the report, Ashraful's team are well on course for a victory as Quarndon are reeling on 94 for six after 24 overs of play.

Meanwhile, Ashraful was recruited by Lashings World XI, who won by 14 runs in a T20 match on Saturday. Ashraful is accompanied by teammates with the likes of Tatenda Taibu of Zimbabwe, Owais Shah of England, Yasir Arafat of Pakistan as teammates and Sir Gordon Greenidge as the club's brand ambassador.

Previously, the youngest Test centurion had scored a century and a 90-plus knock for Lullington in the ongoing season.
