Bangladesh a high-quality side at home says Sundar
Bangladesh's dominance in the fifty-over format at home was proved yet again as the Tigers sealed consecutive ODI series victories over India in the three-match ODI series with a game in hand.
The Tigers have now won 13 of their last 14 bilateral ODI series at home prompting Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar to deem Bangladesh as a high-quality team at home.
"To be honest, Bangladesh is a high-quality side, especially at home. Their record says so, because I think they've only lost one series [in recent years], against England. They've been very, very successful at home," Sundar told the media ahead of the third ODI in Chattogram today.
The Tigers managed to hold their nerves unlike previous occasions against India when they faltered in crunch situations and went on to win the first two games by just one wicket and five runs respectively to secure the series.
With the upcoming World Cup scheduled next year in India, considering the Tigers' current form in the ODI format, the 23-year-old said that the Tigers can have a good chance in the upcoming flagship event.
"Definitely, especially in the subcontinent, Bangladesh is a very, very good side. Even in the T20 World Cup, they had a good run. They've been doing really well in the last few years, and I'm sure they will fancy a good tournament going into the World Cup," he added.
The off-spinner however is confident that India will win the third and final ODI in Chattogram tomorrow to end the series on a positive note.
