BCB defers captaincy decision
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has postponed their announcement to determine the ODI captain for the upcoming Asia Cup, cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus said on Tuesday.
It was much anticipated that the board would reveal the new captain but Jalal revealed that the board president Nazmul Hassan Papon was given the responsibility to talk to the three probable candidates –-Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das, and Mehedi Hasan Miraz—and then decide the best fit for the Tigers.
Jalal, however, asserted that the board is considering announcing the captain for the Asia Cup only and further decisions on who would lead the side in the New Zealand series followed by the World Cup would be taken after the Asian challenge.
According to Jalal, the captaincy issue is set to be solved by August 12.
